Harry carrying echoes of Remus - The special traditions followed at the funeral for Tonks and Remus did more than just bring a bit of closure... There was no guarantee that it would work, since Remus' body was not there, but Tonks' body was, and there was a connection.
One of the difficulties with writing this fic is that Harry is going to be learning a lot that he never knew, but I really want to avoid the Super-Harry pitfalls.
He does not suddenly become all studious, nor does he suddenly become super strong and wise. He is Harry. He has certain things he is good at, and others that he is not. He makes stupid choices sometimes, and does things without thinking, and reacts to Draco's needling when he shouldn't. He has to be prompted to study, unless something really catches his interest or he discovers short term motivation (such as the way he learnt spells for the DA). He's good at avoidance. He will (hopefully) learn what it is like to be an adult, taking responsibility for his own fate and fortune.

(Sorry, rambling.)
